SMEs and Entrepreneurship Committee

The OECD provides governments with the analytical basis to develop policies that create an enabling environment for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). The OECD’s focus helps identify and address the specific challenges SMEs face, such as facilitating access to finance, reducing regulatory barriers, fostering digitalisation and enabling skills development. By providing policy recommendations and sharing best practices, the OECD fosters entrepreneurship, and promotes inclusive and sustainable economic development empowering SMEs to adapt, compete and thrive in changing economic environments.

Business at OECD’s SMEs and Entrepreneurship Committee provides expert support and input to engage with the OECD on strengthening SMEs development and their market access. Business at OECD’s SMEs and Entrepreneurship Committee’s scope encompasses SME finance, digitalization of SMEs, participation in global value chains, addressing administrative hurdles for SMEs, employment policies, and targeted SME support. Business at OECD is also a founding partner of the OECD’s Digital for SMEs (D4SME) Initiative, which convenes an annual High-Level Roundtable, expert workshops, webinars and prepares thematic reports.
