Why the OECD’s Work on Innovation and Technology Matters
The OECD fosters technology-driven growth by advancing science, technology, and innovation policies that support economic competitiveness, resilience, and sustainable development. Its work addresses emerging fields such as biotechnology, nanotechnology, and open science, while promoting responsible innovation and international collaboration. The OECD’s evidence-based analysis guides policymakers in creating frameworks that enable transformative socio-economic change and facilitate partnerships between public and private sectors across disciplines and borders.
Our 2025 Priorities
How Business Engages with the OECD on Innovation and Technology
Business at OECD’s Innovation and Technology Committee provides private sector expertise to the OECD’s science and technology policy work, particularly through engagement with the OECD’s Committee on Scientific and Technological Policy and related Working Parties. Business at OECD’s Innovation and Technology Committee addresses issues from synthetic biology to innovation ecosystems, offering business perspectives on research and innovation trends and emerging technologies. It meets ad hoc throughout the year and represents business interests in the OECD’s Committee on Scientific and Technological Policy meetings twice annually in a dialogue between industry and policymakers.
