Why the OECD’s Work on Governance and Regulatory Policy Matters
The OECD’s work on good public governance and better regulation promotes high quality, fit-for-purpose laws, regulations, standards and self-regulations, which are essential for fostering trust, stability, and an enabling environment for businesses to operate and thrive. In this context, the OECD’s evidence-based approach to rulemaking helps assure that regulations serve policy objectives efficiently, effectively and equitably, which reduces unnecessary burdens on businesses and creates a more predictable regulatory environment. The OECD’s guidance has been enshrined in several Regulatory Policy Recommendations and Best Practice Principles.
