Why the OECD’s Work on Economic Policy Matters
The OECD is a leading purveyor of cross–cutting statistics and evidence–based economic policy recommendations. The aim of the OECD is to contribute to balanced and sustainable economic growth, based on responsible structural, fiscal and monetary policies and financial stability, with due attention to social and environmental consequences. The OECD also periodically evaluates the short-term outlook and key economic challenges at country-level, providing policy recommendations which have an important bearing on the business environment in OECD and many emerging economies.
Our 2025 Priorities
How Business Engages with the OECD on Economic Policy
Business at OECD’s Economic Policy Committee informs the OECD’s discussions on macroeconomic issues as well as priorities for structural reforms. It offers a unique channel by which the private sector can, at an early stage, encourage the OECD to create an enabling policy environment that supports private sector–led growth and open, competitive markets. Business at OECD also conducts a bi-annual survey of Business at OECD members, providing cross-country economic analysis and perceptions of the business environment in the OECD’s member countries to the OECD’s policymakers.
