The OECD focuses on tourism by monitoring policies, evaluating performance, and maintaining a tourism economics database. It offers comparative knowledge, policy advice, and implementation support to enhance competitiveness, innovation, and sustainable development in tourism. The OECD supports governments in designing policies that make tourism more sustainable, inclusive and resilient, by addressing climate change, digital transformation and post-crisis recovery challenges. The OECD ensures the sector contributes to long-term prosperity while preserving cultural heritage and natural resources.
